KOM Hunter and your data
Last updated: October 14, 2026
KOM Hunter follows the Strava API Agreement. For your data that means: we use what Strava gives us only to show you your own predictions, we keep it no longer than we need it, and we remove it when you tell us to. We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to train AI models. No other rider sees your data.
What we get from Strava
When you connect Strava, you choose what we may read. We receive:
• Your Strava athlete number, your name and your profile picture.
• Your city, state and country, your sex and your weight.
• Your rides of the last 180 days. We read them to work out your power curve. We keep the curve and not the rides.
• Your starred segments, and your best time on each of them.
• A notice from Strava when you record a new ride. We read which segments are on it and whether you set a best time on one of your starred segments. We do not keep the ride.
• The keys that let us read these on your behalf. They are kept on our servers and never in your browser or your phone.
When you star or unstar a segment in KOM Hunter, we make that change on Strava for you.
What you give us
• Your weight and age, your bike's weight and your CdA.
• Your power numbers, if you enter them yourself.
• The place your searches start from. We keep its address and its position on the map.
• In the app, your phone's location when you choose "Use current location". We use it for that one search and do not keep it.
What we use it for
To predict your times on Strava segments, to show you the segments around the place you chose, and to know whether you have Pro. Nothing else.
How long we keep it
• Segments, and the record times on them, come from Strava and are kept for seven days. We fetch them again only when a rider needs them.
• Your profile, your power curve and your starred segments are kept for as long as your account exists and Strava is connected.
• The position of your search location is looked up again after 90 days, and removed when you have not come back.
• Our servers keep technical logs for 30 days. A log line can hold your athlete number and the time of a request.
Who else handles it
• Amazon Web Services runs our servers, in the United States.
• Strava, where your data comes from.
• Apple, when you buy Pro in the iOS app, and for places: an address you type, and the city Strava gave us, go to Apple's maps service to be found on the map.
• Stripe, when you buy Pro on the website. Stripe handles your payment. We never see or store your card. We keep Stripe's or Apple's reference for your subscription and the date it is paid through.
• Sentry receives a report when something breaks on the website. A report can hold your athlete number and details of your browser.
None of them may use your data for anything but the service they give us.
Cookies
The website sets one cookie, which keeps you signed in. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
The Chrome extension
The extension works on Strava's own pages in your browser. It reads which segments are on the page, the times shown there and, on a segment's page, whether you have starred it. It asks our servers for your predictions. The times and the star it reads from the page stay in your browser.
Disconnecting Strava and deleting your account
• Disconnect Strava, in the app or on the website under Account: we end the connection at Strava and remove our keys to it, your profile, your power numbers and your starred segments. A subscription bought on the website is cancelled with it: it does not renew, and you keep Pro until the end of the month you have paid for. A subscription bought in the iOS app is not: only you can cancel it, in your Apple account.
• Delete account, in the same place: we end the connection at Strava and remove your profile, your power numbers, your starred segments and your membership. It takes a few seconds. A subscription bought on the website is cancelled with it. A subscription bought in the iOS app is not: only you can cancel it, in your Apple account.
• You can also remove KOM Hunter in Strava, under Settings, My Apps. We then do the same as when you disconnect here.
